The International Board for IT Governance Qualifications (IBITGQ) is a membership organisation dedicated to the provision of training and the continued professional development of information security, business resilience and IT governance professionals.
Our current members include individuals and organisations who are leading authorities in the management of IT governance and have made a significant contribution to setting the standards associated with the delivery of ‘best practice’ in this multi-disciplinary field. This includes experience in the implementation and audit skills required for management standards such as ISO27001, ISO20000, BS25999 and ISO38500.
IBITGQ members are acknowledged ‘industry experts’ who work together in the following sub-committees:
- Training Sub-Committee - developing the curriculum and syllabuses of training courses
- Examinations Sub-Committee - defining the evaluation criteria for consistent assessment
Our initial sub-committees have been focussed on developing the courses and certificates associated with the ISO27001 Information Security Management Standard. For the future development of training and exams, we plan to form a number of sector-specific Sub Committees to focus on IT Governance, Business Continuity, Green IT and Service Management.
Structured Learning Path – The Development of Expert Level
A key element of the work of our Sub Committees has been the development of a training programme with a structured learning path from Foundation to Advanced level. We are planning to extend this programme to include an Expert level designed to further enhance the knowledge and skills of more experienced IT governance professionals. To broaden the scope of this certification, the IBITGQ is currently exploring the possibility that qualification at the Expert level may also include certifications awarded by other Exam Bodies.
We welcome applications from qualified individuals and organisations (commercial or non-profit) who would like to contribute to setting the standards and qualifications of IT governance professionals of the future.
